Affirmations are positive statements, written in the present tense,
that connect you with the emotion you wish to experience.
Your subconscious mind does not know the difference between a
real experience and a thought. By replacing your negative thoughts with
positive ones (affirmations), you are training your mind to create a better life for you!
Here are some more tips for writing affirmations...
> If you are writing affirmations using positive words (avoid the words 'no', 'don't', 'can't') with positive intent, they are bound to be effective. However, if they don't fully resonate with you (really feel right), that may mean it's time to rewrite them. Make sure they are: 1.) Positive 2.) Written in present tense, as if you are currently experiencing the result, and 3.) Full of joyous energy...if saying them makes you smile, you know you are on the right track!
> If you are not already working with affirmations, start by listing the goals you would like to achieve in the next 6-12 months. From this list of goals, begin stating them in positive words as if you have already achieved them. Once you begin this process, have fun, and allow your intuition to guide you toward affirmations you might not have considered at first! If they sound right to you, and resonate with your heart, you know you are on the right track.
> Your frustrations and problems are keys to writing your perfect affirmations: They point to exactly what you would like to change in your life! Use them to guide you. Make a list of your top 10 gripes. Prioitize them, then take the top 3 and begin writing positive statements about what you would like to experience for each of them. For instance, if you are unhappy about your weight, begin writing statements like, 'I love my slender body!', 'My body is slimming down everyday!', 'I naturally choose healthy foods!', 'I love to move my body and my body is slimming down now!' If the affirmations you use are crafted properly, every cell in your body is listening!
