Connecting the Spiritual Dots with Your Business

connecting

Connecting the spiritual dots with your business is essential, but many business owners are oblivious to its power. Does this sound familiar to you…

You understand the Law of Attraction, but have never made the leap to manifesting your desires with your businesses or career.

How can this be? The Law of Attraction is ALWAYS working. Always. No exception. So, how is it that you “understand” the Law of Attraction but are not reaping the benefits?

The answer is that you already ARE reaping benefits!

You are reaping the benefit of continously energetically de-cohering with (repelling) your desire(s). Nothing seems to improve in your business or career because you are reaping the same benefits over and over, and they are not the benefits you say you prefer.

Just a side note about saying we want something and then refusing to shift our energy in the direction of our desires. I’ve done this, and I bet most people have at one time or another, so I’m stating this from personal observation.

To me, this behavior shows that the person is not (at that red-hot moment) truly ready to make the energetic shift. Sometimes humans have to wait for problems to get so bad that they can no longer endure them before they will do the inner work.

Of course, you can always consciously choose to opt out of things getting really bad before you begin making energetic changes.

One of the benefits of contrast is that is often pushes people to go within and deal with long-standing issues they might otherwise have ignored.

So, if you find yourself in this category, just be aware of it. Release self-judgment and embrace your curiosity. Awareness and curiosity have tremendous power for helping us release what’s not working and move forward.

Connecting The Spiritual Dots

In order to align with our desires, we have to be willing and ready to start connecting the spiritual dots, and doing it the sustainable way takes some time and retraining of the bodymind (mind and emotions).

In physics-speak, the Law of Attraction means like vibrations cohere and unlike vibrations de-cohere. That is, we draw to us what we’re aligned with vibrationally (energetically), and repel what we are not or no longer aligned with vibrationally.

Change begins happening quite quickly when we finally connect those energetic dots and shift our own energy. It’s never too late to start (unless you’ve already decided it’s too late for you). Having a great mentor or counselor can help people see where they’ve been blocking themselves.

Here’s the most important part to understand: Connecting the Spiritual Dots requires an INTERNAL SHIFT. Nothing changes in your external world until you shift internally, both mentally and emotionally!

Source Leads the Way

In their many books, videos, and workshops, Abraham has repeatedly said that the moment consciousness comes to a new perspective, a new preference, Source immediately BECOMES the new preference.

Whether consciousness is a one-celled amoeba in the ocean, cells in your body, or a thought about your business, Source is immediately responding and calling you vibrationally toward your new preference(s). We feel bad when we do not answer that energetic call from Source.

The angst we feel is when we resist the calling of Source.

We feel angst when we argue for why we can’t get what we prefer.

We feel bad when we’re constantly telling the opposite story of our preference(s) and wondering why our preference hasn’t shown up.

We feel frustration when we focus more on ‘what is wrong now’ versus our new preference.

We feel uneasy at best, worried and fearful at worst, when we try to figure out HOW to accomplish our new preference before we are energetically aligned with our preference. We’ve put the energetic carriage before the horse: Get into alignment FIRST.

Can you relate?

Alignment Connects the Dots

Part of connecting the dots is getting into agreement with your preference. We call this aligning or alignment. The process of aligning may require retraining our bodymind, patience, and consistent decisions to stay focused on our new preference(s).

Here are a few practices to begin the process of making the internal shift by getting into alignment with your preferences:

• Practice Being Quiet – Whether you meditate on your breath, watch the clouds float by, or get into a deep state of Pure Awareness, the regular practice of being quiet rewires the brain and allows us to better hear our own inner guidance. Think of this as the gardener prepping the landscape for the new seeds.

• Practice Noticing Your Responses – Use your natural ability to observe to become aware of your response to your new preference(s). No judgement or correction, just notice them. For instance, consider something you’ve been wanting to improve in your business for quite a while…notice your response to the idea that you can begin experiencing this improvement today or tomorrow, or next week. Your response lets you know how you really feel at a deeper level.

Once you have become aware of your responses, you can always choose a new response. The timing is up to you. Think of this as the gardener pulling the weeds so the seeds can grow better.

• Practice Noticing Your Counter Intentions – This is a big one! At least it has been for me. For instance, you say you want more clients, but you find yourself not wanting to work with the potential clients who show up. What’s really going on here? A counter intention (maybe more than one!) is splitting your energy by pulling you in the opposite direction of your preference. The result is getting nowhere, fast. Think of this as the gardener extracting the whole root on those really deep-rooted weeds, so they don’t come back.

Notice and clear your counter intentions, and watch your world shift!

• Practice Working with the Four Mighty Ones – Neville Goddard wrote about the Four Mighty Ones of the Imagination in his book, Seedtime and Harvest. They are the producer, the author, the director and the actor in the drama of your life. Practice each of those roles in relation to your preferences. (Click the link above to learn more.)

Think of this practice as the gardener planting seeds with the really powerful organic fertilizers.

• Practice Believing in the Possibilities – Take a few minutes every day, first thing in the morning or just before bedtime, to write down your preferences, why you believe you can have / experience what you prefer, and ways in which you might be seeing glimpses of it already. Some people prefer to have a separate journal for this, but pieces of paper placed in a binder can work just as well. Don’t be surprised if one day, you no longer feel the need to write it down because it’s so *obviously possible* to you!

Think of this as the gardener watering and lovingly nurturing the plants.

• Practice Affirming Your Preferences – Think and speak in ways that affirm what you prefer. Create your own powerful customized affirmations that speak directly to your unique preference(s). Write them on beautiful cards you place around your home, car, office and purse / briefcase to remind, uplift, and inspire you.

When you think and speak affirmatively toward your preferences, it’s like the gardener creating the ideal environment for the best possible crop!

Shutting Down Your Gremlins

Gremlins gargoyles_TomMartin_Flckr

Recently, a deliberate creator asked for advice on shutting down gremlin thoughts (aka the inner critic) in an effort to “control” the vibe.

Gremlins?

Often when we talk about releasing gremlins, those yucky mean and nasty thoughts that seem to run rampant in our brain, in order to get to a better feeling place, we are talking about getting OUT of our brain and into our heart space. As you feel better, your vibration naturally increases and it’s easier to connect with better feeling thoughts. That is very helpful, when you can do it.

What about those who are finding it hard to even FIND a better feeling thought?

I just listened to Joan Borysenko, Ph.D in the HayHouse Summit explaining that the frontal lobe of our brains is not only the executive center but also the center of our awareness. That awareness, for example, is the part of your brain that ‘notices’ the emotional patterns…

‘hey, why is it that I keep thinking negative thoughts? Why do I keep doing that, even though I keep pivoting to a better feeling thought? Hmmm (silence, during which a thought from the past comes to the surface)…wow, where did THAT thought come from? I haven’t thought about that in ages! (feels a twinge in the body).’

Pay attention to the thoughts that surface with a physical feeling in the body! Those thoughts were stored in your cells, from a previous time in your life, waiting for a time when you could consciously be aware of them. Once you give your full attention to those thoughts, the physical tension associated with them will release. As you release more, you’ll notice your body feeling lighter and it is easier to navigate toward better feeling thoughts.

What I also found interesting is that Joan said our AWARENESS function in our brain’s frontal lobe has the ability to activate a hormonal drip onto the amygdala (the old fight or flight ‘lizard’ brain, center of fearful thoughts) that actually quiets and deactivates our gremlin thoughts!

How COOL is that?!? Love it! We really do have everything we need to thrive.

According to Joan, here are 3 ways to trigger awareness:
1. Regular meditation – even 20 min 3x a week for 3 weeks can rewire the brain!

2. Affirmations – that tap into the deep emotional meaning behind the words, (not just the words alone, but something that feels GREAT to say it). Even a SINGLE WORD that has a deep meaning for us can work as a shortcut ‘slogan’.

3.
Mindful Breathing – breathe in slowly through the nose, out slowly through persed lips as IF you are breathing out through a straw. This slows the breathing way down to 4-6 breaths a minute, and I noticed that after I release all the air, there is a delay before the next natural breath. (Men might find that they hold between the intake and exhale.) One to two minutes of this breathing is enough to trigger the hormonal drip that calms your fear circuits as you become more present. Joan calls this Gear-Shift Breathing because it short circuits the negative thoughts and puts us in a mindful space that opens us to Divine Guidance. (To me, this is also a form of meditation – similar to Vipassana Meditation.)

In my experience, the more you are used to consciously choosing and thinking supportive thoughts, the more likely you notice the not-helpful thoughts – they stick out like sore thumbs. Of course, when you are feeling good, it becomes more obvious when you are NOT feeling good! Be self-compassionate as you release the unsupportive thoughts and make room for new more supportive thoughts. After a while, you’ll see much more of the supportive thoughts and less of the unhelpful ones.

What do you think about this? Share your questions, comments, and examples of shutting down your gremlin thoughts below.

No Mistakes…Only Opportunities

Earlier today, I was reminded about the connection between artistic creativity, entrepreneurship, and manifesting.

If you are an artist, then I don’t need to tell you how much that type of creativity requires openness and willingness to let go…of thoughts,  preconceptions, and expectations. Successful entrepreneurs and manifestors benefit from letting go, too.

How, you might ask, does one actually do that when you’re stressed?

ZenTangling is a form of doodling that lets you have fun while training yourself to open up your mind and let go. While there are some established ‘patterns’ you can follow, you can also just wing it and see what happens, often with unexpected and stunningly beautiful results!

© Nancy Barry-JanssonBack in the late 1970s, before I had ever heard of this term, or the name had been trademarked, I was inspired by an unknown european folk artist who drew in a black and white style reminiscent of the Art Nouveau.

I put that inspiration to good use a snow day (no school), and I had the equipment: 18″ x 24″ bristol board, crow quill pens, watercolor brush, and black india ink! I lost myself for hours in listening to music while making tiny circles, curves, and lines in ink with the crow quill pen.

The drawing above is what I created from letting my mind go. Nothing was pre-planned. I remember how focused I was, and yet how free my mind felt while I was working on this. Even looking at this now reminds me of that relaxed-yet-focused state of being.

When was the last time you allowed yourself to be in that state?

As Einstein said, you cannot solve a problem with the same energy that created the problem. To find the solution, we must first find a way to relax the mind so we can think clearly and see other possibilities. Meditation can be a tremendous help, but for those who struggle to relax into meditation, a little doodling can help!

Searching YouTube, I found this video demonstrating ZenTangling – entitled, No Mistakes —Only Opportunities. I was immediately struck by how true that is of life, creativity, entrepreneurship, and manifesting! As the demonstrator spoke, I wrote down the comments she made that could easily be affirmations for life and manifesting…

• No mistakes…only opportunties

• I let my mind go and don’t worry about the outcome

• If I come up against a brick wall…I ZenTangle®, and my mind opens up to the possibilities

• …let (your) mind roll and do as (it) pleases

• Don’t worry about it…let your mind do what it does

• Relaxing and letting go

• Let your inner artist do whatever it pleases

The next time you have a thorny issue to resolve, take some time to relax your mind, meditate, or doodle. Allow the solution to catch up with you!

Now it’s your turn to share: What do you do to relax your mind?

Creating Your Own Economy

If you’re breathing, it’s pretty hard to miss it: Everybody and their brother is talking about the economy. Most are labeling it everything from slow or down, to a recession, and some even consider it the beginning of a depression.

Here’s the thing: Everything is energy, including our economy. In our attraction-based Universe, what we focus upon, we attract energetically. What we focus upon with emotion, we attract even faster energetically. Doesn’t matter what emotion ~ Quantum Physics and heart-based studies show that feeling an emotion boosts the energetic broadcast of your focus across the quantum field of possibilities and brings THAT possibility closer to you much faster than if you thought about it with no emotion.

economySo, when mass-consciousness is focused on something (in this case the economic state), what is being focused upon is being created. If you are worrying and complaining about the economy, you are actually contributing to the current state!

Do the masses who are focusing negatively on the economy really want an economic slowdown, recession, or a depression? I highly doubt it, since their source of focus is usually complaining, blaming, and worrying. They are just unconscious of their true creative powers.

Nevertheless, their incessant attention and their worries lock them in fear which just adds MORE energy to the creation process. If people truly understood their incredible power of creation, I believe they would choose differently. Surely, these folks are not conscious that their attention and energy is adding to such possibilities.

The best way to counteract the mass energy moving toward a non-desired outcome is for those who choose to be Deliberate Creators to consciously focus attention in a desired direction, and tune-out what the less conscious folks are saying about the matter. This is not a time to engage in never-ending conversations about the problems with ‘what is’. Abraham has said (paraphrasing, here) that one conscious person who is tuned into Source Energy is far more powerful than millions who are not.

When it comes down to it, we create our own economy with our vibration (how we interact with the Source Energy around us), our thoughts/attitudes that drive our actions, and the belief in the possibilities. We create our own luck by believing in the possibility of opportunities. What we are willing to perceive is what predominantly shows up in our world. This is why *it seems* as though those who are doing well continue to do so, and those on the edge seem to slip off.

By the way, don’t let the fear-mongers who tell economic horror stories designed to paralyze your efforts fool you: More millionaires were created during The Great Depression than any other time in U.S. History, and this article explains how and why this happened. It boils down to Deliberate Creators believing that something else was possible, focusing attention there, and being aware of all the opportunities available to create their own economic booms. Oh, and if you are letting people talk you out of reaching your dream, then you are not a Deliberate Creator.

Have you made a conscious decision to be a Deliberate Creator, or do you live by default allowing others to decide how you will experience your life?

Here are some steps that conscious, Deliberate Creators can take today to create their own economy:

1. Take responsibility for your own vibration. Pay attention to how you feel and use it as a guide to keep your vibration as high and clear as possible. Meditate regularly so you become attuned and accustomed the higher vibrations. Then, when you begin to feel your vibration slip, you’ll notice it faster and be in a better position to course-correct. Only you are in control of your vibration, as no one else can think and feel for you.

2. In quiet or meditative moments, get clear about the outcomes you would prefer to experience. Knowing clearly what you are aiming for allows you to use your energy most effectively. Not sure what you really want? Deliberately collect more data until you get clear, and you can always define and add further clarity.

3. Find ways to activate the vibration of your desired outcomes: Put yourself in the feeling place of already having what you are seeking such as through visualization, affirmations, creating vision boards or mind-movies, talking about the possibility with other deliberate creators, writing about experiencing your manifestation. Write down & read or say your affirmations regularly. Imagine the perfect clients contacting you again and again. Know what it feels like to be successful and create a profitable economy for yourself.

4. Deliberately seek and connect with other conscious creators. There are *many* of us out here in your real and virtual networks. You can tell who we are by the enthusiasm in our voices and sparkle in our eyes. Those who vibrate much lower find us irritating to be around because we remind them that they have a choice. Begin engaging folks in conversations. If the conversation quickly turns to complaining and blaming failure on the *economy*, then you haven’t found us, yet. Keep believing in the possibility of connecting with other Deliberate Creators.

Good Vibe University is one of the best communities for Deliberate Creators I have seen so far! If your search hasn’t turned up a consistently positive and supportive community, check out GoodVibeU.

5. Get picky about the energy you allow around you. Turn off the news and lo-vibe media. Choose instead to read uplifting books, articles, and blog-posts. Listen to uplifting podcasts. Limit time with low-vibing fault-finders and complainers. Join an uplifting business group such as Quantum MasterMind. Find ways to inspire others and be inspired everyday. Many folks who did this saw their businesses grow exponentially. It’s not a coincidence.

Now it’s your turn:
What do you do to be a conscious, Deliberate Creator of your own economy?

Are You A Gracious Receiver?

There are three steps to the Creative Manifestation Process:

1. Ask (you automatically do this as you notice what you like and don’t like in your life experience)

2. Answer (this is not your work, the Universe does this for you)

3. Receive (put yourself in the place of allowing what is being given to you)

Since step 1 is automatic and step 2 is not our work in this space-time reality, most people struggle with step 3 of the Creative Manifestation Process. They get hung up on what they didn’t like in step 1 and dwell on every aspect of  what they don’t like, why they don’t like it, explaining how much they don’t like it to others, joining support groups of folks who also don’t like it, and then get upset when that is all that seems to be showing up in their life. Instead of receiving what they want, they end up receiving even more experiences they don’t enjoy and feel like complaining about!

How do you expect to receive what you are asking for
if you are not willing or able to receive it?

It is possible to consciously choose positive experiences and to receive graciously. One of the ways to get good at Receiving is to *practice* Receiving. Just like the muscles of the body need flexing to grow, your ability to receive grows with practice. However awkward it feels at the beginning, with practice receiving becomes easier. You’ll find yourself giving from a place of joy and love, and receiving graciously from that same energy. Pay attention to any negative feelings or emotions pop up when you first begin practicing receiving. These emotions are *gifts* showing you the work you need to do to grow. Be grateful that those thoughts and feelings are no longer unconscious—they have come forward to be healed.

Here are a few ways to build your “receiving” muscle:

1. Make a decision to *receive* graciously. Notice all the opportunities in your life to receive openly and joyfully. The more you notice and appreciate opportunities to receive, the more opportunities the Law of Attraction will line up in your life. If you are feeling uncomfortable or guilty about receiving *too much*, then you kow your work is removing the barrier you have to receiving more.

2. Enjoy compliments. Train yourself to just say “Thank You” and feel appreciation in your heart every time you receive a compliment. If your mind is questioning why the person complimented you or whether they were lying, or you feel compelled to downplay the compliment, then you know your work is to find out why you do not feel worthy.

3. Appreciate free gifts and unexpected opportunities. When someone offers you a gift or a great opportunity for free that you would really like to experience, choose to accept it graciously with open arms. Let the giver know how much it is appreciated. If you find yourself questioning the gift and/or the motive of the giver because it was offered for free, then you know that your work is to understand why others giving to and receiving makes you uncomfortable.

If you are offered a gift or great opportunity that you are not interested in experiencing, consider passing it along to someone you know who would really appreciate it. You might be the Angel that Source Energy needed to get that gift to the right person.

4. Record your receiving. In the same journal where you write your Gratitude List or your Appreciation List, add the list of what you’ve received each day—including smiles, unexpected companionship, and kind words. If you find yourself not being able to remember receiving, then you know your work is to be more aware of all you are receiving in every moment of your day.

5. Practice receiving positive energy. When you meditate, spend a few minutes envisioning yourself *receiving* white light and love from Source Energy through your crown chakra (top of the head) or heart chakra (heart area). Let it soak into your skin, bones, and muscles. Feel it penetrating every cell of your body, healing your body as it goes. Allow yourself to feel deep appreciation in this experience. If you find  it hard to accept energy from Source, then you know you have been blocking your own success in this way.

How do you practice receiving? What gifts have you received by choosing to be a gracious receiver? Share your thoughts and ideas below in the comments section so others may benefit from your experiences.
