Manifesting Moods

What do you think about when you think about ‘moods’? When I think of that word, I usually think about the negative ones, but in The Law and the Promise, mid-20th Century author and speaker Neville Goddard wrote eloquently about consciously using POSITIVE MOODS to actually *invite* positive outcomes.

In chapter 7, Neville writes…

Men regard their moods far too much as effects and not sufficiently as causes.

Moods are imaginal activities without which no creation is possible.

We say that we are happy because we have achieved our goal; we do not realize that the process works equally well in the reverse direction — that we shall achieve our goal because we have assumed the happy feeling of the wish fulfilled.

Think about that for a moment: by consciously choosing to feel GOOD, you are activating your imagination to create positive shifts. LOA enthusiasts will immediately recognize this truth, but how many of us have understood it from the term “moods”? You may recognize the term “wish fulfilled” from one of Wayne Dyer’s recent books. Dr. Dyer was reinterpreting Neville’s teachings.

If you have ever watched The Dog Whisperer or Leader of the Pack with Cesar Milan, you’ve seen him INDUCE a positive mental attitude in dogs simply by changing the dog’s physical position. By forcing a dog to lay down, the dog’s body begins to naturally relax and as the body relaxes, so does the mind. By experiencing a different physical posture, the dog is able to find peace of mind.

The principal which Neville writes about is very similar concept, but using imaginal moods ~ moods conjured in the imagination ~ versus physical postures.

In The Law and The Promise, Neville shares this inspiring story which is well worth repeating. Read it and see where you might apply this suggestion in your life:

The lady in the following story so successfully felt the feeling of her wish fulfilled, she made her mood the character of the night — frozen in a delightful dream.

“Most of us read and love fairy stories, but we all know that stories of improbable riches and good fortune are for the delight of the very young. But are they? I want to tell you of something unbelievably wonderful that happened to me through the power of my imagination — and I am not ‘young’ in years.

We live in an age which believes in neither fable nor magic, and yet everything I could possibly want in my wildest day-dreams was given to me by the simple use of what you teach — that ‘imagining creates reality’ and that ‘feeling’ is the secret of imagining.

“At the time this wonderful thing happened to me I was out of a job and had no family to fall back upon for support. I needed just about everything. To find a decent job I needed a car to look for it, and though I had a car, it was so worn out it was ready to fall apart. I was behind in my rent; I had no proper clothes to seek a job; and today it’s no fun for a woman of fifty-five to apply for a job of any kind. My bank account was almost depleted and there was no friend to whom I could turn.

“But I had been attending your lectures for almost a year and my desperation forced me to put my imagination to the test. Indeed, I had nothing to lose. It was natural for me, I suppose, to begin by imagining myself having everything I needed. But I needed so many things and in such short order that I found myself exhausted when I finally got through the list, and by that time I was so nervous I could not sleep. One lecture night I heard you tell of an artist who captured the ‘feeling’, or ‘word’, as you called it, of ‘isn’t it wonderful!’ in his personal experience.

“I began to apply this idea to my case. Instead of thinking of and imagining every article I needed, I tried to capture the ‘feeling’ that something wonderful was happening to me — not tomorrow, not next week — but right now.

I would say over and over to myself as I fell asleep, ‘Isn’t it wonderful! Something marvelous is happening to me now!’ And as I fell asleep I would feel the way I would expect to feel under such circumstances.

“I repeated that imaginary action and feeling for two months, night after night, and one day in early October I met a casual friend I hadn’t seen for months who informed me he was about to leave on a trip to New York. I had lived in New York many years ago and we talked of the city a few moments and then parted. I completely forgot the incident. One month later, to the day, this man called at my apartment and simply handed me a Certified Check in my name for twenty-five hundred dollars. After I got over the initial shock of seeing my name on a check for so much money, the story that unfolded seemed to me like a dream. It concerned a friend I had not seen nor heard from in more than twenty-five years. This friend of my past, I now learned, had become extremely wealthy in those twenty-five years. Our mutual acquaintance who had brought the check to me had met him quite by accident during the trip to New York last month. During their conversation they spoke of me, and for reasons I was not to know (for to this day I have not heard from him personally and have never attempted to contact him) this old friend decided to share a portion of his great wealth with me.

“For the next two years, from the office of his attorney, I received monthly checks so generous in amount they not only covered every necessary requirement of daily living, but left much over for all the lovely things of life: a car, clothes, a spacious apartment — and best of all, no need to earn my daily bread.

“This past month I received a letter and some legal papers to be signed which provide the continuation of this monthly income for the rest of my natural life!” …T.K.

Vibration or Bio-Chemical?

vibration_or_biochemical_paleoFor years now, I have understood and been teaching the power of vibrational alignment. I don’t just teach this stuff, I live it and apply it to every area of my life! This also means that much of my life is a work in progress as I move toward what I am desiring to create…each improvement leads to a new vantage point from which to decide ‘what’s next?’. This constant growing is, as they say, what keeps life force flowing through me.

Sometimes, though, life experiences have me questioning what I know to be true. Questioning everything until you receive answers that feel right can be a good thing. This time, I am questioning if the food we consume is only affected by our vibration (as some teachers say) or if there is more to the story.

Last week, I was sharing with my friend, Jeannette Maw (the Good Vibe Coach), how much I am appreciating eating Paleo (no dairy or wheat/grains) for the past 10 months *despite* the energy that I had been flowing about it when I started:

With Paleo, the energy I was flowing in advance was MAJOR SKEPTICISM shifting to MILD WONDER. That’s what I was flowing. I had heard about it for a while and thought it was just a fad. Then, someone I respect shared some resources and I began researching. I was reading a doctor’s website where he systematically showed how it was the most beneficial diet for humans, way above vegetarianism which he had also tried and found defective.

If only a fraction of the benefits that doctor listed were true, I thought it was worth trying…BUT…a huge part of me (not just my butt) didn’t think it was even possible to live without eating wheat! I’ve been a baker since a kid and couldn’t imagine *enjoying* a life without wheat/grains. Bread I might be able to pass on, but pastas, rice, cookies, cakes, doughnuts?!? NO WAY!

That’s why I set a timeline and gave myself an OUT if it was too hard. Instead, I was shocked to find it was easy! I didn’t get what I believed or was suspecting AT ALL!

There is NO WAY that this experience with Paleo was “just about my vibration”. There HAS to be more to the story…chemical…biochemical?!? It’s not about emotions either, for folks who claim you can only lose weight if you have your emotions worked out. Once I started eating Paleo, I lost more weight than ever with no effort and no emotional ‘work’.

After that, Jeannette just wrote a blog post about when our expectations don’t match results and briefly mentions our conversation as proof that I must have been flowing a positive expectation.

You see, Abraham teaches that when you enjoy your food, then it’s good for your body and you will metabolize it well (i.e., be at a good weight and feel healthy). Likewise, Abraham says, when you don’t enjoy eating food, then it’s not good for your body and you suffer the consequences.

Now, I have mostly been a meat-eater, but I started eating Vegetarian a few years ago because I *expected* it would be healthier for me. That was the intention and energy with which I approached this change in my diet, but that was not my experience. While I was eating Vegetarian, I very much enjoyed the food, yet still my brain felt muddled, I felt lethargic, and gained weight around the middle. I also pulled back on exercising because I had no energy, which compounded the weight-gain. I actually enjoy exercising, but while eating Vegetarian I’d be so worn out afterward and needed lots’o’naps! I’ve since heard that this is a common experience and a major reason why Vegetarians shift to eating Paleo.

Meanwhile, I kept hearing people rave about eating Paleo. As I mentioned to Jeannette, for almost 2 yrs, I dismissed eating Paleo as a ‘fad’, then researched it with major skepticism. Looking back, I researched it mainly to prove to myself why it was not worthy of my attention. I’m laughing as I type this realizing the vibrational discord on this subject!

In fact, I was so doubtful that when I finally decided to try eating Paleo, I set the intention for only 30 days, I gave myself an easy OUT that I would stop immediately if it didn’t feel healthy to my body.

I also made dietary modifications in advance of starting to eat Paleo! Reading that the strict Paleo can be difficult for anyone to handle if they don’t have a ‘health reason’ for sticking to it, one site recommended that we make allowances for a few foods that technically aren’t Paleo. My allowances are Greek Yogurt (technically dairy, but high in protein and probiotics) and dark chocolate. Pretty sure the cave men didn’t have chocolate but would have EATEN IT if it was a choice! 😉 I also chose to include potatoes and rice in the grain category, but allow legumes because I like them in my beef chili (with fresh diced onions and Greek Yogurt!). Mmmmmm…it’s so good!

Anyway, within the first week, with no sugar withdrawals and no feelings of deprivation, I not only LOVED it but the cravings for wheat-based foods that had been a life-long desire had vanished completely! With the cravings gone, I enjoy eating so much more and lost at least 2 dress sizes (maybe more) without effort. Eating this way is effortless for me, so maintenance is easy. Now I understand what they mean when they say it’s less a diet and more of a lifestyle choice.  My taste buds clearly have changed: 3 months later, when I saw sugary wheat or milk-based stuff, it made me gag. I remember how those baked goods tasted, but have no desire to eat it again.

With the cravings gone, I noticed that I enjoy vegetables and fruits so much more than ever before. They now taste so much better than when I was eating Vegetarian! Talk about ironic. This is NOTHING like what I was expecting or the energy I was flowing in advance. I was practically DARING it not to work!

NOW, when I look back to when I used to eat the dairy & wheat-based stuff…I LOVED THEM…even though they weren’t good for my body! I thoroughly enjoyed eating them. According to Abraham and Jeannette, they must have been really good for my body except how awful I felt. Clearly, despite loving the food, it wasn’t healthy for me.

The Deliberate Creator in me is well aware of the power of our vibration, thoughts, feelings, and emotions…but THIS experience has shown me that there is way MORE involved! Clearly, when my body got what it needed in nutrients, it figured out the rest despite my doubting vibration. Plus, I’ve heard that while a large percentage of us do well on Paleo, a smaller percentage actually does do well on the Vegetarian diet that didn’t work for me. That tells me there is also a bio-chemical issue at hand.

I recognize that with every thought, our brain cascades chemicals to the body, so there is a biochemical factor to every thought and experience. LOA purists may say that I must have been flowing a positive vibration, but I know that is not true in this instance. This experience showed me that even with major skepticism/doubt, a positive outcome can be created!

Yes, I was skeptical before I even started eating Paleo and that negative vibrational start should have had an equal affect on my experience. Still, I took each step in *good faith*, approaching each meal with the attitude of “what do I feel like eating that is Paleo-compliant?”. When I noticed at the end of the first week how easy it had been, how good my body felt (light yet fully satiated), how the hunger and bloating was gone, and how much more energy I had, I was delighted! I proceeded with that feeling of delight, and a month later when I started noticing weight loss (I no longer have a scale, so I don’t know how much), that was icing on the proverbial cake…gluten-free, of course!

No Mistakes…Only Opportunities

Earlier today, I was reminded about the connection between artistic creativity, entrepreneurship, and manifesting.

If you are an artist, then I don’t need to tell you how much that type of creativity requires openness and willingness to let go…of thoughts,  preconceptions, and expectations. Successful entrepreneurs and manifestors benefit from letting go, too.

How, you might ask, does one actually do that when you’re stressed?

ZenTangling is a form of doodling that lets you have fun while training yourself to open up your mind and let go. While there are some established ‘patterns’ you can follow, you can also just wing it and see what happens, often with unexpected and stunningly beautiful results!

© Nancy Barry-JanssonBack in the late 1970s, before I had ever heard of this term, or the name had been trademarked, I was inspired by an unknown european folk artist who drew in a black and white style reminiscent of the Art Nouveau.

I put that inspiration to good use a snow day (no school), and I had the equipment: 18″ x 24″ bristol board, crow quill pens, watercolor brush, and black india ink! I lost myself for hours in listening to music while making tiny circles, curves, and lines in ink with the crow quill pen.

The drawing above is what I created from letting my mind go. Nothing was pre-planned. I remember how focused I was, and yet how free my mind felt while I was working on this. Even looking at this now reminds me of that relaxed-yet-focused state of being.

When was the last time you allowed yourself to be in that state?

As Einstein said, you cannot solve a problem with the same energy that created the problem. To find the solution, we must first find a way to relax the mind so we can think clearly and see other possibilities. Meditation can be a tremendous help, but for those who struggle to relax into meditation, a little doodling can help!

Searching YouTube, I found this video demonstrating ZenTangling – entitled, No Mistakes —Only Opportunities. I was immediately struck by how true that is of life, creativity, entrepreneurship, and manifesting! As the demonstrator spoke, I wrote down the comments she made that could easily be affirmations for life and manifesting…

• No mistakes…only opportunties

• I let my mind go and don’t worry about the outcome

• If I come up against a brick wall…I ZenTangle®, and my mind opens up to the possibilities

• …let (your) mind roll and do as (it) pleases

• Don’t worry about it…let your mind do what it does

• Relaxing and letting go

• Let your inner artist do whatever it pleases

The next time you have a thorny issue to resolve, take some time to relax your mind, meditate, or doodle. Allow the solution to catch up with you!

Affirming Prosperity

Are you affirming prosperity or poverty? The answer will be evident in your life: If you are overflowing with plenty in all areas that matter to you, then you are affirming prosperity. If not, you’ve probably been unconsciously affirming poverty and lack.

Fortunately, the same energy that created lack can create prosperity! If you’ve done any reading on prosperity, likely you’ve read recommendations to tithe. What is tithing and why is it recommended?

Back in 2009, I wrote a post about tithing after hearing former Unity minister and prosperity teacher Edwene Gaines speak on the subject. Of course, having lived for five years (as a Catholic and later as a metaphysician) in Salt Lake City, Utah, I was very familiar with the concept of church members paying 10% (a tithe, a tenth) to their church.

In her talk, Edwene had introduced me to the idea of giving money to sources of spiritual food ~ whatever and whomever I truly appreciated. That certainly changed how I experienced giving, making giving more fun and meaningful to me, and less of a forced obligation or a *should*. Tithing to sources of spiritual sustenance is another way to affirm prosperity and support what has supported you in growing spiritually.

We know that the Law of Attraction is lining us up with experiences that have similar energy. So when we give from a place of joy and appreciation, we are attracting more experiences of joy and appreciation. The emotions behind our actions draw to us more and more similar experiences.

Other prosperity teachers and authors have written about tithing. Most, like John Randolph Price in his bible-referencing Abundance Book, simply say about tithing: Do it. Prove that you know more prosperity is headed your way. By giving money freely and not hoarding it, Price suggests that tithing sends the message to the Universe that we are open to receiving more money. However, not everyone who tithes experiences abundant returns. Why is that?!? If tithing is so essential to prosperity, how come many who do it do not benefit financially?

What’s intriguing about this approach is that it has induced many financially-desperate folks to tithe from a place of “I don’t really want to and I can’t really afford this, but if I give now, more money will come to me”, rather from a place of joyful and appreciative giving. Remember, Law of Attraction is lining us up with similar feeling experiences. This might explain why tithing is not always a sure-fire way to receive more abundance.

Recently, I was reading the late Eric Butterworth’s book, Spiritual Economics. Having been a Unity Minister in NYC, Butterworth’s book delves into the spiritual aspect of money and has lots of Bible references, just as the Abundance Book does. Butterworth, however, goes deeper into the concept of tithing.

Beginning with a short biblical history lesson, Butterworth explains that tithing 2000+ years ago was a mandatory form of taxation which took 10% (a tithe) of all assets (food, supplies and animals). He also showed how the Bible does not reference Jesus ever speaking positively about tithing or linking it to the concept of receiving more. Rather, Butterworth shows that Jesus taught about giving freely and from the heart, and this book suggests we’d be better off doing that, rather than tithing.

I have to agree. When I stopped giving to organizations I was resenting for their constant barrage of junk mail and started giving ONLY to sources of spiritual food (regardless of whether I could get a tax write-off), I started giving more freely from the heart. It just felt so good! Yeah, there were a few non-profits in there but there were also some individuals, teachers, authors, and speakers who had inspired me.

This also got me thinking about paying taxes, which was the original meaning of tithing. Paying taxes is also a reflection of the amount of financial prosperity you have experienced…a way to affirm prosperity. I have experienced this personally. There were several consecutive years after the dotcom bust where I had limited-to-no income.

When you don’t have enough income, you don’t pay taxes, either. That might seem like a good thing, except that chances are also pretty good there wasn’t enough money for basics like food and shelter, either. To top it off, talking and/or complaining about it only affirms poverty and lack.

The first time my accountant told me I hadn’t earned enough to pay taxes, I was OK with it…but, as the quarters passed with the same news, it just made me sad! If you have also experienced this, then you know that paying taxes is another way to affirm prosperity. It keeps currency moving in flow, rather than piling up and stagnating. I remember the first time I owed taxes again, and how ecstatic I was: It meant I had earned a good living!

Realizing this gave me an epiphany about giving, in general, whether to sources of spiritual food or to pay taxes: When we stop whining and complaining about having to give (taxes) or choosing to give (donations), giving instead from a place of appreciation because we know we have plenty and are happy to share, that’s the signal the Universe needs to send us more!

When you have more than enough, sharing can be fun. In the U.S., many folks are preparing to pay taxes for income received in 2011. If you have a habit of being upset about paying taxes, it would benefit you greatly to shift that attitude. Act as if you already have enough, share from a place of appreciation and plenty: Affirm Prosperity!

Releasing Your Victim Status

How often do you feel like a victim? How often do you feel like things happen TO you, instead of FOR you? Some of you reading this will probably say never, and if so you might really want to look a little deeper.

This is not easy to admit, but recently I became aware that I was raised to feel like a victim. In no way do I blame my family. I doubt they set out to *make* me feel that way, let alone to feel that way themselves, but it still is the truth: I was raised to feel and act like a victim.

I know I was raised to feel this way be cause my family’s favorite pastime is complaining! Not only did the adults around me model how to complain, we were actively encouraged to look for things to complain about and rewarded with extra attention when we did. In family gatherings, not only could you get lots of attention for complaining, most times the rest of the group would join in and add their complaints to the mix!

But it didn’t stop there. Complaining wasn’t even JUST the favorite pastime in my family, but in the culture around me, where it’s still active every where in our media and news sources!

But that was then, and now I understand how I create my reality with my thoughts, words, actions and the FEELINGS they invoke in me. Those feelings send out a vibrational signal to the Universe through the electro-magnetic field that connects everything. So, I’ve learned that when I take 100% responsibility for my thoughts, emotions, and feelings, the world around me shifts to reflect that back to me.

I know that I am a Deliberate Creator and what I give my attention GROWS vibrationally, and before long, it comes into physical manifestation. When you complain, you are giving a signal to the Universe that you want MORE of what you are complaining about, and that keeps you feeling stuck, as if nothing ever improves, and in a perpetual state of victimhood.

I have come to learn that if I really want to experience change, not just complain about it, I have to begin thinking and speaking differently. Even if I am complaining about complaining! 😉

That’s because it is impossible
to complain and NOT feel like a victim!

It makes vibrational sense: If you want to let go of your victim mentality, the first step is to stop complaining. It might be easier for you to make a decision to halt your complaints in mid-thought. However, if you hang around a bunch of people who like to complain verbally or in writing (blogs, articles, etc.), before you know it, it may become your habit, too. Once complaining has become an ingrained habit, you may find yourself doing it without even trying!

to release your victim status,

you must FIRST let go of

the habit of complaining!

You’ve probably heard me say that EVERYTHING that we say is affirming something – either something positive or something negative, depending on the label we give to it. When we complain, we are affirming our status as victims.

It’s up to you, though. No one else is going to think your thoughts, speak your words, or feel your feelings and emotions. When would you like to release the victim status and feel more empowered? That’s the time you will want to commit to letting go of the habit of complaining. It’s never too late to stop complaining and create a new habit.

Relaxing Into Summer

Relaxing view on a hikeThis is my first post in 2 months. Not because I don’t like to post, but because I decided to wait for inspiration and ended up relaxing into summer.

How often do you let yourself reeeaaally relax?

Even though I was relaxing, I was also actively doing what inspired me. I practiced deep breathing and Quantum Entrainment several times a day, whenever inspired. I got out in nature. I took walks and said my favorite affirmations. I read books that uplifted and inspired me. I visualized and got into the feeling place of feeling great. I was listening to great recordings and watching interesting videos. I hung out at Good Vibe University and did some calls for them. It was fun and wonder-filled!

How often do you look for inspiration around you?

When I write blog posts, I like to follow an inspiration and see where it takes me.

Relaxing and finding inspiration are two powerful ways to increase your vibration which then attracts more higher vibration experiences into your life. In fact, when you combine the two (relaxing and inspiration), you open the door to some serious magic!

When I wrote about creative cycles, I mentioned the importance of rest/renewal gestation periods. If you are always expecting yourself to be ON, then chances are…you are burning yourself out. Give yourself regular rest, and fill your world with inspiration. You’ll actually be much more effective when you do work after resting.

By now, I hope you have noticed that anything I recommend to you I have first tried and experimented with myself. In this blog, I share not only what I have learned, but what has worked for me, with the intention that you will also try what resonates for you and experience positive outcomes.

This past February, Trish Spadt told me about a process she was enjoying called Quantum Quantum Entrainment - AwarenessEntrainment. With excitement, she talked about how it has changed how she perceives the world and positively shifted many things in her life. I had met Trish virtually last Fall when she had inquired about selling my meditation program on her website. One day, I called Trish (it turned out it was also her birthday)  and we had a joyful conversation about metaphysics, her journey understanding how we heal ourselves, and about Quantum Physics. So, when she brought up Quantum Entrainment in our next conversation in February, I decided to check it out!

Many of you already know I have been on a metaphysical and spiritual journey since my late teens, so I have probably abandoned more processes and modalities than most people have even tried. When someone tells me about something new, I am usually a little skeptical, but I at least check it out. If it resonates, I keep going. If it fizzles or feels off to me, I let it go. If I am meant to learn it, it will resonate me at a future time.

Following along with the free videos on the Quantum Entrainment website , I found the process easy to learn and intriguing. (BTW, ‘Stop Your Thoughts’ and ‘Science Behind QE’ videos are my favorites!) I also listened to the interview of Frank Kinslow (now on the home page), and listened to the free audio meditations. The process is simple yet very profound: By engaging in a deep form of rest, we are engaging powerful healing energy. When we get into a relaxed state of Pure Awareness, experiences we would normally consider miracles begin happening. Healings on many levels (physical, spiritual, emotional, etc.) begin to take place and seem to happen without any effort.

Right now, you are probably rolling your eyes. I know it seems crazy to get amazing results by essentially doing NOTHING. Stay with me, you’ll be glad you did!

After listening and following along, I found I could get into the state of Pure Awareness (you have to feel this because words really do fall short) relatively easily. QE/PA felt WONDERFUL, and after only a few minutes in this state I felt deeply rested ~ as if I had awoken from a restful night’s sleep! While I cannot point to any profound physical shifts, I could FEEL in that first 24 hours that something profound was shifting internally for me.

If you are scratching your head wondering what I am talking about, keep reading. Quantum Entrainment escapes explanation. As Frank Kinslow says, “It goes beyond words, it goes beyond the mind.” I can confirm that you really have to experience Quantum Entrainment/Pure Awareness for yourself.

I asked around at Good Vibe University [GVU] if they had heard about or tried Quantum Entrainment. Marielle Duijndam, in the Netherlands, had attended a workshop there called Rapid Healing which is essentially the same process and also mentioned that The Living Matrix is essentially the same. (Since then, I’ve heard that Tom Stone teaches Pure Awareness, which is the same process.) Before long, there was a lively conversation happening around this process, several people having some great breakthroughs, and we decided to host some calls combining the subjects of Quantum Physics and the Law of Attraction, Quantum Jumping, and Quantum Entrainment. Several folks from GVU have shared profound shifts they have experienced since incorporating this process into their life. One member, in Germany, was initially a naysayer but ended up getting a scholarship from GVU to attend the live workshop in his area. He enjoyed the course so much that this former-naysayer went on to take the Master Course with Frank Kinslow. Not only does he now employ QE/PA regularly, he’s experienced some financial and career breakthroughs as a result.

By the way, Frank mentioned in the Germany workshop that all the information about Quantum Entrainment is on the website. So, buy the books and register for a workshop if you feel drawn to do so, but everything you need to learn and do QE is right up there on the site, available 24/7. It costs you nothing to try and learn. That business model is intriguing to me as Frank easily makes a living selling books and offering workshops despite the fact that all the information is available for free on his website. To me, that points to a whole new way of doing business AND a perfect example of how it is easy to trust in abundance and well-being when we are in tune with Divine Source!

As a result of incorporating Quantum Entrainment, has my life shifted in a positive way? Absolutely! New opportunities showed up, abundance flowed in, and I gained a deeper appreciation for and interaction with Divine Source Energy. That energy is now palpably present in my  life, every where I go, every thing I do, and in every interaction. It’s easy to trust in Divine Source when you feel it palpably and know it is always working for your highest good. Quantum Entrainment feels wonderful to do and it has indeed improved my life. For me, it felt like the missing piece of the puzzle.

CAUTION: Quantum Entrainment/Pure Awareness is addictive! Once you become aware of this power in your life, and how wonderful it feels, you will no longer be interested in suffering. You simply won’t tolerate suffering and discomfort, especially when you can instantly find relief with QE/PA, so your life will shift for the better and you will find very little to complain about. Happiness is the by-product of shifting and healing how you show up in the world. You will see the direct result of making the effort to be in Pure Awareness, so you will never again question how you create your reality and you’ll refuse to stay stuck in misery. Consider yourself warned. 😉

Exploring an Ancient Energy Clearing Modality: Ho’oponopono

I’ve been wanting to write about the Hawaiian energy clearing technique, Ho’oponopono (Ho – oh – po – no – po – no) for quite a long time. I’ve had amazing success with it, even though I didn’t really understand how it worked. That was, until I began learning about Quantum Physics and the work being done by HeartMath.

Wait, I’m getting ahead of myself.

It was Dr. Joe Vitale’s viral article that first taught me about Ho’oponopono in 2006. Upon reading the article, I thought it was interesting, but to say I was skeptical would be an understatement! In the article, Joe talks about understanding full responsibility in a profound new way after hearing about the simple way a native Hawaiian psychologist named Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len cured an entire prison of criminally insane patients without ever seeing the patients in person. At first blush, that sounds pretty wacky, doesn’t it?!? How could this be possible that anyone can heal themselves and others by silently saying a series of phrases? Dr. Hew Len healed himself by silently repeating…

“I’m sorry…

Please forgive me…

Thank you…

I love you”


While the article was intriguing, I had a hard time believing that saying such words to myself would have any impact.
A day or two after I read the article, I was in the car with my then-teenage son who was mad at me for pulling him away from Facebook on a perfectly beautiful sunny day, so we could take a hike in the hills and have lunch together. I know, what kind of mother asks her child to get away from the computer and out into fresh air and sunshine? Cruel and unusual punishment for a teenager, I’m sure.

Anyway, my son was ranting and screaming at me in the car because he wanted to be cooped up at home on Facebook. Initially, I began arguing with him, when I *remembered* this article and Ho’oponopono. At that point, I stopped arguing and began silently saying to myself, “I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you…”  Now, from my son’s perspective, I had just stopped arguing and was *listening* because I was quiet. And I was. But we were both also feeling my shift in energy from defensiveness to inner peace. In addition, I also noticed that by saying those words to myself, I felt safe and protected even though he was screaming horrible things in my direction. I felt like I was in a protective bubble  and his words were heard, but not as hurtful as they would normally feel.

To my surprise, my son immediately began calming down. Then he said something that sounded like he felt hurt. Silently, I responded, “I’m sorry, Please forgive me”, and then resumed, “I love you, Thank you.” Within minutes, my son’s anger had completely de-escalated and he was speaking calmly to me. Moments later, as we were now driving up into the hills, he was enjoying the view of hawks and lizards out his window, and appreciating the changing landscape. His anger was gone and I was impressed. I didn’t know *how* this had worked, all I knew is that it did work!

A few days later,  I recounted this story to a friend and sent her the article. The next day a business conference call gave her the chance to try this technique. Her results were similar: An angry/ranting co-worker completely calmed down in minutes, then apologized to everyone for his rant. The remaining conversations during the conference call were very calm and productive. My friend was amazed because this angry co-worker usually tied up every conference call with 45 minutes worth of yelling…and after using Ho’oponopono, he stopped at 5 minutes and the rest of the call was easy!

I’ve even used this with strangers around me! Whenever I am around people in public who are arguing or being mean to each other, I silently say the words to myself. I don’t even need to be looking at them. Invariably, they stop arguing and start getting along…and I continue on my way with a smile on my face.

By the way, we are not saying these words to the other person(s) around us, we are saying them *to ourselves*. I recommend you read more about this, including the article link above, and/or click on Dr. Len’s photo to read articles about this on his site. The videos below will also explain it in greater detail. When we say these phrases to ourselves, people around us hear nothing, but they have the sense of being heard, even if we are not looking at them. Dr. Hew Len says that we are cleaning the data in our own subconscious, and that causes an effect in our experience.

But don’t take my word or others for it…try this out yourself and see what you discover. You’ll learn far more by trying it yourself than just reading about it. All of us have responsibility for how we feel, and to notice what feels best for us, and there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution. If you understand Quantum Physics, then you’ll understand more how when we shift our energy we shift the energy of everything around us. Until you experience it personally, though, it remains a theory.

Appreciation: Express Yourself!

First, I got confused, and then I started noticing a pattern. And it’s a good one, in my ever-so-humble opinion!

365 Thank Yous by John KralikOne of my Quantum MasterMind clients recommended the book, 365 Thank Yous: The Year a Simple Act of Daily Gratitude Changed My Life by John Kralik. Prior to writing the book, Mr. Kralik found himself at a low point in nearly every aspect of his life. He realized that it might be time to start focusing on what he could be grateful and appreciative of rather than all that was going wrong.

This book chronicles his journey writing Thank You notes every day for an entire year. Good things began happening in his life, and the book shares this as well. He is now a judge in Southern California.

Those who have visited my blog regularly know that I champion the idea of appreciation, in whatever form works for you. I know personally how wonderful it feels to be in a state of appreciation, and how easy it is to get there, even when there are lots of things in our lives that could stand further improvement.

Here’s the thing: We are always in process of becoming. We never get it done because The Book of AWESOMEthere is always more possibility for improvement. So, when you allow yourself to be in process AND take time to appreciate where you are, who has joined you on the journey, and what you have to share with others, it makes the process even more enjoyable!

So, when my client first recommended this book, I thought he was referring to The Book of Awesome: Snow Days, Bakery Air, Finding Money in Your Pocket, and Other Simple, Brilliant Things by Neil Pasricha based on his blog 1000AwesomeThings.com after I had seen the author’s video speaking at TEDxToronto 2010. Here, too, the author was in a pretty tough place in his life where he could have focused on what was not going well, but chose to spend a little time each day appreciation the free, simple, and rarely appreciated aspects of our lives. He’s only completed about 2/3 of the list, but here’s the author speaking about the book:

But as I was trying to figure out if 365 Thank Yous was the same book/author as The Book of Awesome,  I remembered that a woman had started 29 Days of Giving and wrote a book about that!

Can you see why I was confused?

Yeah, I know, it’s hard to believe. I’m getting confused over books, videos and resources about being appreciative and taking appreciative action! Come to think of it, what an AWESOME thing to be confused about, wouldn’t you say?!?

There’s no better time than now to express your appreciation!
