Relishing the Renewal

As I wrote about in my February 2010 post, Aligning with Your Natural Creativity Cycles, once we have completed a large project, it’s not uncommon to desire a time for rest and relaxation. This is a normal part of the creativity cycle, and if we don’t allow ourselves this time, we often create illness or some other *road block* to provide it to us.

Now that I have completed the online portion of my latest project, a 7 part call series for small businesses entitled, Harnessing Your True Power: What to do BEFORE you take action!, I literally feel like I just gave birth to a HUGE baby with a 2 month-long labor!!!

By the way…

If you wonder why people charge for the audios and transcripts from these kind of series, take my word for it: It’s a HUGE undertaking, and most people wouldn’t do it in the first place if they realized it upfront. This is from someone who simply ADORED interviewing the experts and talking about this subject. That part, though adored, was only a fraction of the work involved! I worked nearly 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 60 days conceiving, creating, planning, preparing, and managing every detail of this series…and there were even more people behind the scenes helping *me*!

When you give birth to a human baby, the body’s hormones fill the mother with a myriad of conflicting emotions. I’m finding myself feeling similar conflicting emotions, sans the hormones. Part of me is ELATED to have this baby born, and  *out in the world* so I tell everyone about it, while another part of me…just wants to relax and sleep.

I recognize the latter emotions as a sign that I have completed the major creation phase of this project, and my mind/body, body/mind is ready to take a breather. I’ve learned to give myself this respit…it pays off! I stay healthy while I’m relaxing, and the next project benefits immensely. Honoring this part of me is not only good self-care, it’s good self-love. When we treat ourselves kindly, the universe mirrors that back to us in many ways.

While the major creative part of this project is over for me, I won’t consider myself *done* until the final transcripts have been provided to me, I do my magic-makeover on them, and they –along with the final audios– everything is officially delivered to all the folks who purchased the entire call series.

Which reminds me…

I also want to personally thank everyone who helped me get to this point, including all the experts who happily gave their time and promoted these calls, and my behind-the-scenes team that helped me with transcripts.

I especially want to thank those who purchased the entire call series before even a single call was available (talk about TRUST in what I’m about and what I offer!!!) and those who bought after listening to the calls…realizing this series was worth purchasing. Thank you!

Thank you for joining me on this incredible journey!

Thank you for summoning this information through me!

Thank you for inspiring this great resource!

Thank you for listening and sharing these calls!

Thank you for purchasing the series!

Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!

Once the orders are fulfilled, then, I will truly be ready to relish the renewal phase and…relax!

To get to that place of fully relaxing into renewal, I have a *secret*.

Relaxation CoachFortunately for me, I am working with two very special relaxation coaches who know me well…who also happen to be very furry and cuddly. They are intent on ensuring that I learn the proper way of fully, and deeply relaxing. In fact, they specialize in this and are equipped to pin me down, if need be!

If you are self-employed, I highly recommend working with such specialized coaches. If you aren’t so lucky to have your own relaxation coaches, I know your local shelter will be happy to *hook you up* with some! Your body and your business WILL thank you: Seriously, I’m not sure I can ever convey the power of this kind of coaching, whether it’s 1:1 or 2:1 or 3:1 or … OK, your city probably has limits, so check on those first.

So, now that I’ve shared this secret with you, if you don’t hear from me for a little while, you’ll know my relaxation coaches are showing me how it’s done! =^..^=

  1. Another great blog Nancy!

I love that you spell out all the ‘behind the scenes’ work that goes into these things – and I can very much relate to that part of the creative cycle that says ‘stop or die!’ lol! I just did that myself – when my body, eyes and being simply said ‘NO’ to the computer, email and all that stuff – and ‘YES’ to extended bed time, the sofa and the shopping mall! lol – it’s funny what those revitalising breaks can look like!

My phase was done having just completed a cycle of events, culminating in our 90 delegate Dublin NPA event – and yes, there’s a lot of work goes in to these things. I’ve also been getting new websites together for the January trip to India ( which has been more of a demanding creative child than I expected! And with NPA events coming up in Croatia, London and as a Virtual – my body just knew that a TOTAL stop was a necessity!

So yay you – I just know your series will, like everything else you do, be so full of love and be of great benefit to all those who do make that decision and buy it as soon as it’s fully complete. And THEN you can give yourself some serious snooze action! ;0)

    Love & Blessings

    • Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Joel!

Not only do I help small business owners, I am one…so it makes sense to share this journey, and how I *survived* it with others. You are so right about giving yourself the break. I am AMAZED at how much you are doing, but you could only be this productive if you also gave yourself the self-care and self-love needed to move forward. That’s one of the truths about running a business that is rarely discussed! I’m glad we’re *lifting the veil*. 😉

Thank you, also, for sharing your experiences. I know your NPA events are always amazing, and your Satsang retreat in India looks *fantastic*! Great job on the site, too!

      Many blessings,

  3. Congratulaoutions and aren’t you glad you didn’t have to worry about stretch marks? he he!
    furr-balls maybe!

I agree wholeheartedly about a good relaxation coach – and where to find one or more! Our animal companions are very perceptive of our needs and our local rescue and animal shelter groups are all in need of foster homes and adoptive homes for the animals they care for!

    • Yes, Cheryl, furr-balls are part of the coaching *package* price. As are cleaning the litter and feeding them, but it seems paltry in comparison to what I get in return. 😀

Since relaxation is truly the key to *allowing* the Universe to deliver what we are asking for, it makes sense for the shelters to begin advertising their abundant source of Napping, Playing, and Relaxation Coaches!

      Thanks for stopping by, Cheryl!

      Many blessings,

  4. Nancy,

Great post! If you look at nature, there are always cycles of high production (summer) with periods of high rest (winter). In this post, I hear you reminding us to step out of the artificial world of constant producing and back into the natural cycle of getting stuff done combined with lots of attention to self care. Thank you!

And thanks for your awesome summit! Told lots of folks about it and you ..

.-= Paul Zelizer´s last blog ..Synchronicity and Success- Signs You’re on the Right Path =-.

    • Thanks for stopping by, Paul! Last time, we stirred up lots’o’controversy on your Facebook page. Wonder what we can stir up, here? 😉

When I wrote the first post (Feb 2010) about natural creativity cycles, there were lots of folks who hadn’t heard about it before. For the first time, they could stop beating themselves up and start *resting* without guilt.

Thank you for sharing the information about the call series, Paul! Greatly appreciated. 😀

      Many blessings,

  5. First of all, Nancy, I want to congratulate you on a job well done. All the time, energy, creativity and work you put into your “True Power” series showed as it was so very well put together and presented.

It amazes me when I hear friends and clients talk about “feeling guilty” when they rest. So this information is greatly needed. Even the Bible talks about God resting on the seventh day of creation. Personally I feel resting IS being productive as it allows our mind, bodies, emotions and spirit to rejuvenate. I have often received great insight during those times.

Love reading about your kitty coaches. Just reading about your kitties puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart.

    Many blessings,

    • Susan, I hope this information helps you help your clients get to a better-feeling place about taking time off. 😉

Love reading about your kitty coaches. Just reading about your kitties puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart.

Me, too…which is part of why they are so effective at helping me feel good AND relax!

Thank you for your comment, Susan!

      Many blessings,
