2010 is here~and it’s NOT science fiction! How will you embrace and benefit from the the amazing energy of the New Year?

Whether you are one who doesn’t know about or understand affirmations, or you’ve tried them briefly in the past only to feel they didn’t work for you, this call will demystify affirmations and show you how to harness their full power for your benefit this year!

Nancy Barry-Jansson is an AffirmingSpirit Teacher/Mentor who has been working with affirmations since the mid-1980s. Having experienced great results for herself, she began casually teaching others who were inspired and uplifted by the experience. In 2000, she conceived of AffirmingSpirit Blank Affirmation Cards, and in 2003 she launched the product and website. Nancy created and ran the 2008 AffirmingSpirit Affirmation Study with participants across the United States to gather information about why affirmations work for some, but not for others. A year later, in 2009, she extended her offerings to small business owners with Quantum MasterMind for Solopreneurs.

  1. Wonderful call! I so much enjoyed listening to both you, Nancy, and Maria. I especially loved the story of how you used positive affirmations to manifest the money needed to put solar paneling on the roof of your house.

I also want to validate the power of positive affirmations as I have used them myself for many years. When I started using affirmations I would write my affirmations out 10 times in a journal then re-read them often. These affirmations helped me attract my husband, all the wonderful dwellings we have lived in, financial abundance and more.

More recently I place affirmations around my computer where I can look upon them often. I also repeat them mentally to myself as well. I agree with you, Nancy, that the most effective affirmations are the ones you resonate with on a feeling level.

Thank you so much for all the enriching information you shared.

    All the best,

  2. I’m so glad you enjoyed this call, Susan!

Your affirmations list sounds amazing~I’d love to hear some of your manifestation stories. :o) I can tell you also understand the power of writing them down and keeping them OUT where you can see them/say them more often. Thank you for sharing.

    Many blessings,

  3. Ok. Here are some stories.

When I was truly ready to attract the love relationship of my life, I wrote out the following affirmation. Mind you, this was over 30 years ago and was the first way I learned to do affirmations. This involved a procedure in which I would write in my journal. First I would write the date. then the affirmation went something like this.”I now draw to me and affirm a wonderful, mutually loving and supportive love relationship with the right man for me. ” And then I would list the qualities that were important to me both in the person and the relationship.

I would write that out 10 times then end with a statement by Shakti Gawain that states:

“This or something better now manifests for me in totally satisfying and harmonious ways for the highest good of all concerned. So be it. So it is. Thank you. Amen.” ….Then I signed my name.

I would revisit my affirmation throughout the weeks – date it and write “I re-affirm” and sign my name. I could also make adjustments if need be by dating and writing out the adjustments.

I am not sure how much time it took but I think it was within the year that I met and fell in love with my husband who pretty much fit all the qualities I had listed in my affirmations.

My husband and I used this same process to manifest apartments and houses we have lived in through the years. Each time we found just the right place for us.

And, I think I used that same procedure during our process of creating our internet store, Equinox Gifts.

Now that was a very long procedure and I rarely do that anymore. However, I must say it was very effective. Nowadays I use shorter affirmations. If I have a particular affirmation or affirmations I am working with I will repeat them like a mantra during my walks or in the shower. And, like you, I have also listened to tapes and cd’s of affirmations.

I find affirmations are very helpful in times of a crisis. I will affirm a positive outcome and it always works, for example, with car problems or in an emergency situation.

I know you like to use specific affirmations but there are some general ones by Louise Hay that are very effective for me such as, “Everything is working out for my highest good” and “Only good lies ahead of me” Those really do it for me!

Nancy, just wanted to say that I am so glad you stated in the call that we use affirmations all the time as most people are not aware of that.

Also, I have noticed from your Twitter comments especially on #MaMo days that your use of affirmations is skillfully applied. You definitely have a gift in terms of creating highly effective affirmations. So glad you are sharing that! : )

  4. Wow, Susan! Thank you so much for sharing this. I really love learning how others have implemented affirmations~it’s not something that is usually discussed or shared, even among close friends.

I’m glad that process worked for you, but I have found that when they are hidden in a journal~I am more likely to forget to repeat them. However, when they are on cards around my home, office, and purse (so I can say them on-the-go) it makes it much more likely they will be noticed, said, and felt.

Someone I coached kept their cards in their daytimer so they remembered to say them regularly. This person didn’t enjoy meditating, so everyday she journaled her *affirmative scripts* after a few minutes reading Ask & It is Given by Esther & Jerry Hicks.

I think that every way of doing affirmations that feels good to you, is *right for you*, and I enjoy seeing all the variations.

    Many blessings,
